HEALS Environmental Data Management System
HEALS EDMS is used to improve and standardize environmental data collection, management, and reporting in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This is accomplished by implementing a documented, auditable process for the collection, storage, and reporting of environmental data. Throughout this process all stages of the sampling and analysis are tracked and notifications can be sent via email or SMS (text message). Notifications for non-compliance events and sample exceedences can be automatically sent by the system. The environmental data management system has been created through the WP8 of the HEALS project in order to gather, collect and mine the environmental data from other information sources and data that will be produced through the project. The first approach on creating the EDMS had three alternatives:
- Link to existing databases
- Incorporate data directly retrieved from other databases into the environmental management system
- Extract datasets and import them to the environmental management system
